Her favorite part of the process in inlay, when the stones meet metal. Bernadine is known for her bright, seamless settings. She started with Lazuli Designs in Gallup, NM and stayed with the workshop when it relocated to Albuquerque, NM.

It is part of my Native American culture. I enjoy making the designs, and working with the stones, and being able to carry on my culture

Chris Henry

Chris Henry (Navajo) has been working with silver most of his life. He started silversmithing crafting jewelry with his family in 2005.  After thirteen years of experience he joined Lazuli Designs October 2018 to do contemporary inlay, setting semi-precious stones.

Native American Jewelry means a lot to our Navajo people.  It's important that we wear these precious colors in silver.  It was told to me by our elders: it's so that our Gods will see and recognize us as their children.  It gives a lot of meaning to me with the multiple, vibrant, colors, and various designs.  My favorite are coral and turquoise.
